What it is like
Pratumnak sits on the hill dividing Pattaya from Jomtien, and it is the compromise a lot of people are looking for without knowing the name. It is residential and green, with small beaches like Cosy Beach tucked below, and because it is elevated a great many units get a real sea view. You are ten minutes from central Pattaya and ten from Jomtien, but the street you live on will be quiet.
Who lives here: Couples, professionals, anyone who wants calm within five minutes of everything.
Rents: Studios from around 12,000. Sea view one bedrooms around 25,000 to 30,000.
Good
- Sea views without beachfront prices
- Quiet and residential
- Central to both towns
Less good
- Hilly, so a motorbike helps
- Fewer shops within walking distance

Renting in Pratumnak Hill
Why is Pratumnak more expensive than Jomtien?
Elevation and quiet. The hill means far more units get a sea view, and it is residential rather than commercial, so there is less around you.
Is it hard to get around?
It is a hill, so walking gets tiring and shops are spread out. A motorbike makes it comfortable.
Is it a good first place to live?
It suits people who already know they want quiet. If you are still deciding, Jomtien gives you more around you while you work it out.
